Unhappy, Vicious Office People

October 18, 2007 on 7:55 pm | In Fitness & Nurtition, This is soo crazy! | No Comments

Working in an office comprised of cubicles presents the inherited danger of intruding other peoples space. Having said that, I’d think that people will use discretion before raising their voices. One of my coworkers, from my group, delicately told me that people, not from our immediate department, but on “the other side”, have complained that my food is too aromatic; in other words it stinks. During the resolution discussion I expressed the following:

*I cook all of my food at home, hens it has a rich, fresh aroma!
*I don’t use any foreign to Stop & Shop spices; I don’t even use curry or other intruding ingredients.
*I’m an actively exercising individual, who is looking after his health, thus I need to eat around 4:00pm so that I can go to the gym after work.
*I have to use some spices so that I get variety in my diet; there is only so much one can do with meet and vegetables.
*From a health stand point I cannot afford to eat frozen dinners, which happen to be very popular amongst obese, “busy,” people who prefer to lay on the couch instead of exercise, and which dinners hold no nutritional, health value nor do they smell of anything.
*I only see 3 simple options:
-Not eat at my desk. Not feasible because I eat lunch at noon at the cafeteria and I don’t have time for a second trip there.
-Not warm my food so that the aroma is suppressed. Feasible in some cases but I can’t commit to eating fridge-cold meals at all times; some meals just cannot be eaten cold.
-Not eat in the afternoon. Not a resolution because I go to the gym around 6:30pm and don’t have an opportunity to eat till 9:00pm when I get home. Proceeding without food for 9 hours (from 12:00pm to 9:00pm) is not good for my health nor is it pleasant.
*After deliberately examining the above alternatives I conclude that the best thing to do is to resume current practices.

Even Martha Stewart Would Envy This Cubicle

I’ve been working at AboveNet for a little over 2 months but never did anything abut my cubicle decoration. I suppose i like it plain except for my food supplements such as tea, honey, multi vitamins, Omega 3 oil, protein powder, gum and CORE ABC (Amino acids, Beta-alanine, 7 Citrulline malate).

By contrast, however, i went around the office and wanted to award utmost, abundantly decorated cubicle. Examine how many different decorative objects you can find; things like pictures, post cards, news paper clippings, little figurines, plants, artificial plants, flags, etc.

And the award goes to:
