Spring and All
April 24, 2005 on 5:20 pm | In Friends | No CommentsLet me see… where am I at? It is spring again, after a long winter. School is going well; I finished two Suffolk classes so far this semester – Organizational Behavior and Taxation I – both with straight A’s. I have 3 more weeks left in Intermediate Accounting II and 7 more in Advanced taxation and then a short break from school. This accounting class appears to be very tough. Even the professor is having hell of a time with it. If one is to teach advanced course in accounting he or she better knows how to figure time value of money, how to do it on a calculator and most of all how to explain it!!!
Work is the same beastly part of my life… Things are a little better however, our new manager is working very hard and the new assistant manager is learning quickly. I scored 4th in the region in the sales competition last quarter – the bonus money will help to pay for school when the fall bill comes.
My love life is in deferred status, I’m almost an “old maid – a frozen asset.” LOL
I spent my entire spare time, as little as I have, hanging with Joan –during the week – and Steff and Cliff (Siffy and Cliffy) on the weekends. Steff is doing Friday nights at Pufferbalies (local nightclub) so I end up there a lot. It’s a degrading teenage-slut-contest type of place but we usually spent most of the time in the smoking area drinking, chatting and laughing so it’s actually bearable.
Sunday is poker night. I work until 3pm and around 3.30 I’m parked at Steff and the fun begins. I always have a blast there, I play poker too but my favorite part is the karaoke. Cliff plays the guitar and Steff sings. It is awesome, they have the whole set with the microphone and everything… cliff is determined to have me sing and I try but it’s horrific – I suck! The new thing is going to be Thursday night at the Blue Anchor. Steff is doing the advertisement and it is going to be 80’s music. We swept the clubs last Thursday dropping flyers and I hope to make it a big fun night.
New Rubric
April 24, 2005 on 9:55 am | In Big Soccer Words | No CommentsMy new rubric is called “Big Soccer Words”. It simply brings the spotlight on different words that I find fascinating. It is called Big Soccer Words because of a recent discovery of mine - sportsman are trying to use big words to make themselves look smart and intelligent not only in Bulgaria but everywhere in the world. That is such phenomena to me, how is it that soccer players in Bulgaria and football players in US are trying to say big words in interviews and sound absurd and ridiculous because of the clumsy usage…
