Overview
September 17, 2004 on 12:40 pm | In Friends | No CommentsJoan and I started the 6th season of Buffy. I was rather reluctant at first but I do like Buffy and I’m looking forward to watch some more tonight. Joan has started a new diet that I don’t like compare to the South Beach one but she seems involved in it, which is good. Joan cooked my favorite Salmon meal the other night; it was totally delicious - south-beach-salmon with sun dried tomatoes, spinach and cappers; mashed cauliflower and special rice.
Beccam is Beccam as always - strict but cheerful. Very sweet and thoughtful she is. We are going kayaking on Sunday and I’m very excited about it. I promise to take pictures and finally post a picture of her here.
Arthur is busy! He works like crazy and I’m a little worried about him. He picked me up from the airport when I cam back from BG and we’ve seen each other only twice since then. We are becoming good friends given that we don’t see each other all that often but when we do we feel connected.
Stephanie is pregnant! It usually takes her 2 to 3 days to return my call but this time, after I came back from BG, I waited a week. I finally had to call her at work to get in touch with her. We went to the Panera Bread (favorite place for lunch yummy broccoli and cheddar soup) and to the Prodigal son for coffee (favorite place for coffee), afterwards. We laughed so hard that tissues were needed.
I think, however, that we gonna miss the good times of the summer; Steff seems burdened by her pregnancy. I hate to analyze that but I dont think she is ready for bearing a child right now. That will make a first kid between her and Cliff a pro; second for Steff, and forth in total you draw the conclusion.
I was over their house on Saturday and we did the usual food (clam-boil, grilled goodies etc.), drinks and talks. What was different? They now have all 3 kids fulltime and no time to catch up with everything. The kids are bestial and uncontrollable. The children didn’t bother me. It was sad, the realization, I that don’t have them children would experience much greater pleasure dealing with the kids. It always makes me sad to see young people “playing adults”. It shouldn’t be a game, it should be your life, main focus and reality. I can only pray for the best.
Kate - a new friend? I don’t know. This thought has been bothering me for a while now. We work together. I utterly am attracted to her and she makes my days at work. My heart is bleeding, I think Im gonna loose her I think shes gonna transfer to Hyannis branch. Kate is Gemini figures. We make a great team at work, a customer even made a comment yesterday you guys are like one attached. Do you ever part? Funny!
First toughts
September 17, 2004 on 12:39 pm | In School | No CommentsI fulfilled my plan for settling down and getting into schooling. I’m actually very grateful, happy, glad and excited about going to school. The classes I’m taking require a lot of reading and work but I feel that I’m learning a lot.
Last night was my first literature class, after we were assigned reading materials, and it was great – I totally kicked ass. Despite the fact that I was utterly dreading this class and the presents of few literature students on top of that, I came up with some valuable comments. I don’t know what is up with me but I just can’t keep my mouth shut. I can’t help it though… I’m realizing that I’m passionate when comes to art and psychology of writing. I’m unconditionally devoured by the genius of writers.
So far we looked at Bierce, Crane and London; I liked Crane’s style and humor. I’m entirely in love with the instructor – Laurel Kornhiser – sharp, charismatic and passionate about the subject.
Besides that it’s very difficult and broad I’m depriving myself from a comment on my accounting class, yet.
A joke?
September 12, 2004 on 8:14 pm | In This is soo crazy! | No CommentsA gross joke came up to my mind LOL.
Winnie-the-Pooh is walking down the forest path, on his way to visit Christopher Robin, and he meets Piglet who is busy doing something.
”What’re you doing Piglet”
”Oh, I’m eating an orange”
”An orange? But Pig that doesn’t look like an orange at all to me!”
”Oh, It might be ‘cuz I’m eating it for a third time.”
Everyone hates this joke but I think it’s hilarious.
Past Due
September 9, 2004 on 12:09 am | In Narrative | No Comments My visit back home was incredible! I spent a lot of time with my family and friends. Zakki was a bit strange in the beginning but loosened up with the time.
I arrived on a Monday and on Tuesday we were on my dad’s village.
My relatives there didn’t torture me with questions of the type, “so how is the American?” and it was very nice seeing them. Next day we went to my mother’s village and it was just as nice.
Visiting both places brought back a lot of memories from my childhood, which was strange and nostalgic.
Thursday we spent in Sofia and later this day we, (me, my brother Emo, mom Veneta and my brother’s fiancée Ketie), took the bus and went to Asenovgrad to meet Ketie’s parents. That was incredible experience. Ketie’s parents are incredible - very sweet and hospitable people. We stayed there through Sunday when Zakki and Mary came to pick us up to go to the Black Sea. Asenovgrad is a magical town placed in a mountain valley. Very beautiful place. We went to the Asen’s fortress
where we saw a church rebuild in the 12th century.
The Black Sea is unbelievably beautiful and I totally recommended as a vocational spot. We spent 5 days there and it was complete leisure time. It was 5 days of lying on the beach eating and laughing. ![]()
We came back to Sofia late Friday night and I called a friend of mine who’s twin sister lives in LA and she told me that it’s her wadding day this day. The wedding party was fascinating it was also like a 10year high school reunion for me - I saw a lot of dear friends at once.![]()
The left few days I caught up with some other friends and then I flew back.
Of course there was a lot more to my being home but that kind of sums it up.
